HOW TO INSTALL MARBLE TILE PAVERS....

Introduction

Marble Tile Pavers are of such elegance and can be used inside or outside the home. Marble is a metamorphic rock which is primarily made up of limestone. Marble Tile Pavers are available in a wide range of colors, shapes, and sizes.

The installation process of marble tile pavers is quite simple; whether you decide to have it professionally installed or do it yourself.

Materials Required

To install Marble tile Pavers today, some of the materials suggested to use include:

  • Heavy duty gloves
  • Paver spacers
  • A level
  • Wet saw
  • Eye protection
  • Cement
  • Sponges
  • Bucket

The Installation Process

1. It is very important for the site chosen to be level when installing Marble Tile Pavers. Otherwise you must install a layer of plywood to even out the surface.

2. A wet saw is then used to cut the Marble Tile Pavers into the size required.

3. Cement is then laid out on the chosen site.

Laying Marble Tiles 4. The Marble Tile Pavers need to be firmly placed down into position to avoid the pavers from sliding. Spacers are then used to evenly space out each paver. Once the spacers are in place the Marble Tile Pavers are left to dry for 24 hours.

5. The spacers are then removed. A soaked (with water) sponge is then used to spread the cement throughout the paved area, to fill in the gaps between the pavers.

6. After leaving the over lying cement to sit for 10minutes the Marble Tile Pavers are then cleaned with warm water and left to dry for a further 24 hours.

7. Sealants and glosses can then be applied to keep the Marble Tile Pavers from stains and scratches. Sealants are left to dry for a further 24hours.

Maintenance

Marble is a soft stone which scratches and stains quite easily. Avoid high traffic areas in your home such as main entrances or kitchens as it is highly susceptible to acids, eg vinegar and citrus acids. Special Marble Tile Paver sealants can be applied when the installation process has been completed to help prevent further scratches and staining.
