Engraved Pavers at Vermont's Veterans Memorial Park ...
| Engraved pavers will mark the names of war veterans from the state of Vermont, in the veterans Memorial Park at Five Corners in Essex Junction. This memorial will pay homage to the local residents of Vermont who served in the Civil War, WWI and WWII, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. This will give families who have lost loved ones through any of these wars to display a lasting memory. |
|
The main focal point of the park is the fountain and the eternal flame surrounded by nine poles displaying the flags of the United States, Vermont, POW/MIA, Marine, Air Force, navy, Army, merchant marine and Coast guard. Memorial paving stones will surround the fountain. Families from all the US are permitted to honor a veteran in this memorial park.
The design will also include several walkways, made using brick paving stones, between the monuments, memorial stones, and a wall with historical facts pertinent to each war. This design has been expanded so as to improve the overall effect of the existing Veterans Memorial Park in Essex.

One granite paving stone measures about 6 inches wide and 31/2 inches high. Commonly people have the names of the war veterans engraved on the surface of the paver, or some may include the date and the particular war that they served in. For each stone paver there is room for about three lines of inscription, which is about 12 characters per line, and at accost of $100. |
There is also a larger granite paving stone available, which measures 6 inches wide and 7 inches high. This size paving stone can hold up to six lines of engraving, with about 12 characters per line. The cost of this larger granite paving stone is $250. These engraved paving stones are a great way of paying respect to our brave soldiers who gave up their whole lives for their country.
